Modern civilization observes the technological advancements of science in different aspects of life and environment as well as education. Numerous Research and thesis articles have been made and published in the area of scientific advancement. Artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics are quite common in the field of scientific research. Robotics and artificial intelligence, though these terms are seen to be in utterance together are not the same. Robots can have artificial intelligence but it is possible to make and develop a robot without artificial intelligence. Robotics is the classification of engineering and computer science where without any human intervention machines are built to perform programmed works. Artificial intelligence is systems and methods imposed by the human mind to train, problem-solve, and make decisions without any interference of humans. This thesis paper is made to address the research area of computer science and the connection of robotics, AL, to computer science. Research questions are chosen and the methodology to discuss the question is elaborated in the context of the thesis.
Research area:
Concept and contribution of robotics and AI in modern computer science:
The definition of robotics in broadway covers everything about robotics. Robotics are quite popular in films and literature based on technology and science fiction. In simple terms, robots are used to do work that is difficult and impossible for humans. A robot without any fatigue and toil can do repetitive work everyday that is almost impossible for human beings as they can get bored, suffer from lack of enthusiasm. In recent decades, in daily life, robots have taken the place of human laborers. Robotics are also being used in scientific development of the modern world (Syed et al. 2020). A robotic laboratory fully controlled by robots designed experiments on “molecular biology” and is able to discover few new aspects in the respective field. Robots are capable of doing more than physical labors in a science laboratory. They can identify genes, enzymes and are efficient in analyzing scientific advancements (Henry et al. 2018).
It is almost impossible for human and or human intelligence to maintain the pile of information that recent physics and astronomy experiments produce. To process and combine this gigantic amount of data, artificial intelligence is required by scientists. With minimal human interference, AI can system an artificial neural platform or computer simulated web of neurons that mimic the brain functions of normal human beings. AL can go through terabytes of data, highlighting the essential hypothesis and spot the pattern that is almost impossible for humans. Some scientists use “generative modeling” and other new techniques to do the work of traditional science. Scientists agree that the role of AI is gradually increasing in scientific and technological advancements.
Research questions with methods of discussion and effectiveness
- AI helps to improve biometric security measures used by organizations
The complexity of the digital era has obliged many organizations to put extra security in their databases. Formulation of biometric identification is a milestone in the context of digital security measures for the IT firms and other organizations dealing in digital platforms. Biometric technology takes physical details of humans to grant access to the premises and databases or other restricted fields of any organization or personal property. Biometric technology determines and recognizes “facial recognition”, “iris scan”, “fingerprint scan”, and other details of a person that can be easily understood by AI.
- The role of the human-robot interaction in consumers’ acceptance of humanoid retail service robots and healthcare systems:
This thesis takes a measure to study behavioral and natural propensity as a valid substitute for “humanoid retail service robot” acceptance (De Gauquier et al. 2018). Users’ use and function of new technology depend on the behavioral intention of using the system of information and their efficiency. In the context of service consumer’s acceptance of robots is influenced by their ability to use new techniques.
Robotics are becoming more natural in the context of healthcare (Vijai and 2021). “Socially assistive robots” are machines that help the user in a social manner rather than physical. Several related science studies have shown that critically ill patients and their doctors and therapists appreciate the assistance of robotic interaction socially as well as physically in the context of treatment.
- Distributed Artificial Intelligence for Internet of things (IoT)
Technological fusion of advancing AI with “functional electronics” flourished in an advanced way that is able to analyze, detect and make decisions with “machine learning assisted algorithms”. Mixing AI with IoT based on the combined integration of technologies and information are considered as “state-of-the-art” technologies to enable an intelligent ecosystem in IoT technologies and healthcare (Shah et al. 2018).
Methodology
This thesis observes the methodological challenge and process to discuss the research area and research questions in the context of discussion. First it assesses the contribution and concepts of robotics and AI in recent global trends and computer science (Oosthuizen and Rudolf 2019). Secondly, it focuses on the questions and challenges regarding robotics and AI in the modern era of technology. The supply and statistics of robotics are inferred from the information on nations worldwide that are involved in the robotic industry. The limitation of statistical data needs to be solved by using the “statistical imputation method” to reconstruct the missing data.
Conclusion
This thesis has provided an overview of robotics and AI and its importance and relevance in modern technologies including its conceptual definitions. Reviewing the literature in terms of the direct and indirect impact of robotics on human civilization and giving focus on healthcare, this thesis puts forward the necessity of robotics and AI. Further to the technological challenges regarding robotics and AI from a conceptual viewpoint a key limitation for proper elaboration of robotics activity depends on effective identification of AI. In conclusion, this thesis aims to give valuable information in order to create dedicated databases for the study of the contribution of robotics and AI over the past few years.
